Briefly, it's about:
While Sunni is sketching a famous and mysterious painting in Blackhope Tower, his step-brother Dean disappears into a labyrinth in the same room. Sunni has no choice but to follow him and they find themselves lost inside a magical painting from the sixteenth century. Soon, another friend follows them in and the three journey through labyrinths of adventure in search of one another, and a way out. Fausto Corvo was known for painting enchanted masterpieces and the children are followed by a greedy art forger who will stop at nothing to possess Corvo's hidden works and the pirates and unknown terrors that lurk in the shadows. It’s a story you can't put down.
We have a winner folks! I loved this story. Blackhope Enigma is a true adventure, It's well written and smart. There are different layers to the artwork; the top canvas they first find themselves in is flat and lifeless, but they can walk along the roads and leave clues for one another. Sunni and Dean find an opening between some rocks and when they venture through, find themselves inside a living world and meet someone who has been there for over 400 years. But there are other layers as well, this is where the adventures begin and the race for their lives. Quite a captivating read.
It's perfect for:
